Eileen Huggins, SN
Cruise Planning

Eileen has been a member of the US Power Squadrons since 1989.  She teaches the BSPS Cruise Planning course, and the Anchoring Seminar.  “Teaching is in my blood,”  she says.   “I was a teacher in a former life and enjoy meeting new people, along with helping them to plan better cruises.”

She and her husband own a 35 foot sailboat , named Boadicea, which they have sailed from Seattle to Lake Ontario, via the Panama Canal and through the Caribbean.  It was a voyage that took four years.

The couple have  also twice circumnavigated Vancouver Island. “Sailing trips like those have given me lots of cruising experience,”  Eileen says,  “which I pass on to students in the Cruise Planning course.”

She has had several articles published in boating magazines describing some of her many experiences.  Eileen holds a General Amateur Radio License.
